December 3 – Moment

December 3 – Moment. Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (texture, smells, voices, noises, colors). (Author: Ali Edwards)

omigoodness 🙂 how do you choose just one moment?! its been a fantastic year with tons of monumental moments. so to just pick one is kinda hard. so i’d like to say that this one isnt *better* its just the most ingrained i guess.

so as you might know i did two powerwalking marathons this year, the first i did on my own and the second i did with my OH. The first i finished in 6:35 but i had no intention of trying to make the second match the first as the second was in edingbourgh and was far far hillier than the one in London.

my momemnt was this – coming up to the finish i realised that we were onlyabout 3 minutes off my London time. i remember looking at my watch and seeing the number there. all around me there was other walkers who were looking completley pooped and there were alot of supporters either side of the path. i looked at OH and said – ‘we are going to bomb this last bit’ unzipped my waterproof to show off my bra (the sign of the moonwalk – dont worry i hadnt gone bonkers!!) and we started pumping it. i remember pumping it past alot of other ladies who were looking at us as if we were off our rockers – but we were on a mission. I had my head down and i was going, but i could see flashes out of my periphiral vision of supporters really cheering us on.

we crossed the line at 6:35:32 – and having that medal put round my neck was amazing

as was a sit down a bit later LOL x
